Baahubali Bridge unveiled for PM Narendra Modi's historic Amaravati visit

In welcome news for travelers heading to the capital city Amaravati, a major infrastructure project has been completed that will significantly reduce travel time and traffic congestion. A new six-lane bridge spanning 3.11 kilometers across the Krishna River is now open to the public, eliminating the need to enter the city of Vijayawada and get stuck in prolonged traffic.

The bridge was inaugurated against the backdrop of the Prime Minister's visit and the resumption of construction work in Amaravati. Constructed as part of the western bypass, this new bridge provides a highly accelerated route to the capital. Travelers approaching from Hyderabad can access the bridge near Gollapudi and reach Venkatapalem in Amaravati in just five minutes by crossing the Krishna River.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday declared that the construction of Amaravati capital city would be completed in three years, and it would inaugurated by prime minister Narendra Modi.

The day also saw the launch of 94 projects worth ₹57,962 crore. They included the laying of stone for 74 Amaravati-related projects worth ₹49,000 crore, nine Central government projects worth ₹5,028 crore, eight National Highway projects worth ₹3,680 crore, and three railway projects worth ₹254 crore.

Andhra Pradesh Inks Pacts With IBM, TCS and L&T To Launch Quantum Valley In Amaravati.

The government of Andhra Pradesh has signed agreements with IBM, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and Larsen & Toubro (L&T) to deploy India’s largest quantum computer at the country’s first Quantum Valley Tech Park, officials said on Friday.

The facility, currently under development in the state capital Amaravati, will be anchored by IBM’s Quantum System Two, featuring a 156-qubit Heron processor. It will be the first installation of its kind in India and aims to serve as the cornerstone of a national push to build a competitive quantum computing ecosystem.

TCS is collaborating with IBM to advance quantum algorithm and application development in support of India’s National Quantum Mission, which seeks to position the country as a global hub for quantum innovation and job creation.
